Accomplishments

- Participated in the commissioning of Kansanshi Copper Smelter in 2014.
- Achieved the highest academic performance in my class of mechanical fitters, consistently ranking first throughout the program.
- Led a project to address high bearing temperatures caused by a motor upgrade in a blower machine. The transition from grease to oil lubrication not only resolved the issue but also significantly improved the machine's performance, surpassing the initial 50% efficiency gain target. Moreover, we achieved a substantial 75% reduction in maintenance costs through this successful upgrade. The project's success was a result of close collaboration and the establishment of long-term monitoring procedures.
- Led a successful project to resolve cavitation issues in a pump system that featured four pumps with 4-inch suctions connected to a common 6-inch manifold. Initially, the cause of cavitation was unclear. After thorough analysis and diagnostics, it was determined that the manifold size was inadequate for the number of pumps. Spearheading a team effort, we increased the manifold size, effectively eliminating the cavitation problem and optimizing the system's performance. This achievement demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and engineering expertise in delivering a sustainable solution.
