• Provided oversight for overall coordination, implementation, and oversight of the KGS Case Management System in Zambia.

• Successfully piloted the first Case Management approach in Education in Africa for the Ministry of Education and adapted the approach for scale up to 49 districts cross the 10 provinces of Zambia
• Developed the Case Management Standards of Operation and Procedures Manual for the Keeping Girls in School pilot project.
• Supported the Ministry of Education engage out of school girls to pursue alternative education pathways.
• Strengthened the Ministry of Education to network and collaborate with other social protection institutions in providing the right services to adolescent girls for them to complete their formal education using the case management approach
• Supported the Ministry of Education in mapping alternative education pathways for adolescent girls who could not pursue formal education due to social challenges such as teen pregnancies.
• Managed all partners and donors including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Community Development and Social Services and the World Bank.
• Facilitated the capacity assessment, training, coaching, and mentorship of Ministry of Education staff, Ministry of Community Development and Social Services Staff at HQ, Province, District, and School levels based on Case Management System standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

• Oversaw the management of day-to-day project operations to ensure that the project implementation was within the scope, schedule and budget as per project requirements.
• Prepared the Annual Work Plan and Budget, progress reports and ad hoc reports on the status of project planning and implementation for submission to Management and Donors.
• Conducted capacity building for government staff and community stakeholders in social protection and child-led social accountability.
• Ensured high-level communications to increase project’s visibility at the national level including working with the mainstream media.
• Provided oversight coordination and support for child-led shadow report on Sustainable Development Goals implementation in Zambia and presented the findings during the Voluntary National Review for Zambia during the United Nations High-Level Political Forum in July 2020.
• Participated and facilitated stakeholder presentations on social protection issues affecting children in the 42 session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations in Geneva Switzerland in July 2019.
• Coordinated the National Children’s Summit and the UNCRC @ 30 celebrations including the media campaigns involving 27 local and international organizations in 2018 and 2019.
• Supported the delivery of quality technical inputs, including qualitative and quantitative research during the Endline and Impact Evaluations.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

• Provided oversight on the delivery of quality programmes activities and management of annual operational plans in 200 schools and ensured they were with scope and budget.
• Developed a comprehensive M&E framework tailored to the adolescent girls programme, ensuring that the system captured and reported on project indicators (the project aimed to keep adolescent girls in school and, over time, positively impact the number of girls completing secondary school and transitioning into post-secondary education).
• Collaborated with the Consultant in engaging private sector and quasi-government institutions in providing internship placement for adolescent girls on the project.
• Developed the program’s Career Internship Program aimed at providing opportunities for adolescent girls on-the-job learning in the short-term but aimed over the long-term to have a positive impact on the number of girls attaining employability skills and entering the formal labor market.
• Provided capacity building for the Ministry of Education’s Guidance and Counseling Department in the delivery of targeted adolescent girls service provision.
• Provided oversight in the development of project materials including school club materials, Career Fairs and Job placements.
• Provided high-level communications to increase project’s visibility at the national level including correspondence with UNICEF and Goverment.
• Monitored the monthly project spending of budgets against the activity lines and ensured that variances are factored in the subsequent months

• Reviewed and designed health, safety, security and child protection policies and procedures for all programmes in the organization

• Provided over sight of programme implementation through designing annual operational plans and coordinating the programme activities in line with the annual operational plan and make changes where necessary
• Led and conducted situation analysis and assessments to establish evidence-based data for ICS phase two in different communities across central province
• Was the lead liaison support and the key link in Zambia of the International Citizenship Service program in the UK.
• Conducted life skill and sexual reproductive and health rights training to adolescent youth community and international volunteers on the programme

Background

The Zambia Integrated Systems Strengthening Program (ZISSP) was a four-and-a-half-year USAID-funded, Abt Associates-led project which increased the use of quality, high-impact health services through a health system strengthening approach in Zambia.The ZISSP team employed interventions to strengthen processes and capacity at all levels of the health system, while simultaneously enhancing access to and use of high-impact health services.

These services addressed malaria, family planning, HIV and AIDS, and maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition. ZISSP collaborated with communities to encourage the use of public health services by Zambians and their families.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

• Supported the design of the data capturing tools
• Conducted Interviews of key Personnel of Ministry of Health at the provincial and district level on the implementation of the system strengthening programme in Eastern Province

Background

Read to Succeed was a USAID funded institution with the aim of providing interventions in literacy using the Early Grade Reading Tools/ Assessment (EGRA) which were predominately ICT materials. The institution/ project had an understanding with the Ministry of General Education and provides interventions through the capacity building of early grade learners (grades 1,2 &3), teachers and head heard teachers. The project had interventions in 5 provinces of Zambia and its intervention schools are in the rural communities.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements

• Provided leadership support to the team in conducting the baseline i Northern Province.
• Assess literacy levels of pupils in rural areas using Early Grade Reading Assessment tools.
• Provided support in data collection, data verification as well as in ensuring effective management.
• Spearheaded capacity building for teachers in the use of Early Grade Reading Assessment tools (ICT materials) for literacy skills development for first graders.
• Supported the Zonal In-Service Coordinators in the delivery of the Early Grade Reading Assessment tools in Northern province.

Background

The Reading Support for Zambian Children was a research project conducted in selected schools in Lusaka Province with specific focus on the literacy using ICT materials in early grade leaders. The research project also focused in building the capacity of early grade teachers in using ICT materials in delivering literacy lessons.

• Provided effective management of data collection and verification processes on a weekly basis
• Provided leading role in gathering data on literacy levels using data gathering tools
• Facilitated capacity building of more than 80 early grade teachers on the use of ICT materials for literacy skills development for first graders
