Role Purpose - Assist the manager to promote internationally recognized mining standards and conditions, safety and production improvement strategies through: identifying opportunities; managing and implementing of actions.

• Develop systems to continuously capture and monitor mining standards and conditions.
• Assess performance as basis for individual rating and ensure sustainability of exemplary performance through motivation.
• Provide coaching on deviations observed through Visible Felt Leadership (VFL), Safety Leadership/Interaction (SL/I) and Critical Control Reviews/Verification (CCR/V).
• Liaise with departmental managers, superintendents and contractor senior management through operational turnaround strategy meetings and one-on-one sessions to address non-compliances, nonconformities and deviations to mining standards and conditions.
• Provide technical support on implementation of actions for closure and apply consequence management.
• Report performance on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis on various operations and analyze lagging/leading indicators.
• Developing and maintaining database for tracking of improvement and sustainability indicators which help replicate Best Practices in mining.
• Development of analysis models through evaluation of recurring deviation trends in relation to Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), Best Operating Practices (BOP) and Management Plans (MPLs).

• Responsible for timely achievement of production targets by strategically dispatching and allocating production fleet to areas of production.
• Acting as link between engineering maintenance and production operations to ensure proper coordination and management of fleet.
• Liaising with other service departments such as ventilation, geology, geotechnical/rock mechanics and mine survey departments on any issues relating to production.
• Ensuring mining sequence is achieved timely and accordingly.
• Ensuring support standards in all production areas is not compromised.
• Identifying bottle necks and setting up improvement opportunities in production.
• Ensuring mining standards are not compromised in operational section.
• Ensuring all operations are in compliance with relevant Mining Acts and Regulations.
• Attending/coordinating representation at all weekly/monthly production and safety performance review meetings as required.
• Ensure training and development of all subordinate employees in order to achieve and maintain effective/efficient performance.
• Engage in coaching of subordinate employees as deemed necessary.
• Ensure motivated workforce through effective leadership and adapting to changing needs of company.

• Heading all long-hole drilling (LHD) and face development operations.
• Liaising with service departments such as ventilation, geology, geotechnical, and mine survey in setting up operational improvements on short and long term mine plans.
• Prepared key performance indicators and key improvement strategies for discussion with company management and directors.
• Ensuring all operations are in compliance with Mining Acts/Regulations (Mines and Minerals Act/Mining & Explosives Regulations) and are kept within budget and approved cost estimates.
• Managing and organizing resources required in operational area.
• Attending/coordinating representation at daily/weekly/monthly production and safety review meetings.
• Appointment of deserving employees in accordance with requirements of related Acts and Regulations.

• Review of mine plans/schedules and make recommendations on integration of plans with short and long term projects.
• Prepared daily/weekly/monthly production targets in line with annual approved Business Plans.
• Prepared and provided mining information for review with mine officials to ensure mine operational areas are managed in accordance with relevant Acts and Regulations.
• Prepared mine manager's month end mining reports for review of safety performance, actual production costs against budgeted costs, and provided forecast trends in order to highlight areas of concern.
• Prepared plans and schematics (mine layouts) using Software design packages such as AutoCAD, Surpac and MineSched for targeted areas.
• Liaised with contractors and stakeholders on technical presentations, reports and presentations.
• Ensured that operations are done in line with Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and communicated strategies for further improvement.
• Collected and analyzed information to assess performance statistics, adherence to statutory requirements, system efficiencies and setting up improvement opportunities.

• In charge of Sublevel Caving (SLC) and Vertical Crater Retreat (VCR) drilling.
• Ensured safety of men and equipment by adhering to Safe Work Procedures.
• Ensured timely backfill of depleted stopes using waste rock.
• Monitored stope performance - blasting fragmentation, dilution and draw point stability.
• Monitored DTH drilling machines such as Cubex to ensure optimum operational efficiency.
• Supervised installation of different support patterns to suit prevailing rock conditions as recommended by geotechnical/rock mechanics department.
• Monitored consumption of material in order to ensure efficient and effective use for cost control purposes.
• Ensured motivation and training of subordinate employees.

• Graduate Development Program - Familiarized and trained in all mining operations.
