• Keeping records of all maintenance activities performed on each piece of equipment for accurate tracking, future reference during shutdown jobs at Improved Material Handling (IMH) sections Smelter and full compliance to mandatory PPE requirements in all areas of the mine site.
• Perform all plant maintenance projects tasks in a safe, timely and to a high quality, lubrication of equipment with right quality and quantity lubricants to suit best operations standards and work at Refinery, Acid and Smelter plants.
• Self-starter and able to work autonomously and as part of a team and demonstrate a commitment to work place safety, the safety of co-workers, very accurate, methodical, practical and safety-conscious when installing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
• Compliance to safe working standards and documents such as: JSA’s, Work Procedure’s, SWI’s, etc.
• Executed a comprehensive audit of Safety and Environmental Management systems, identifying and mitigating 15 high-risk areas, ensured compliance with policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent potential incidents.
• A clear understanding of preventative maintenance, strong communication skills and a flexible “can do” work ethic.
• Ensuring good housekeeping practices are maintained by cleaning up before, during and after every task and not leaving any hazards within the work place.
• Have the ability to diagnose faults with equipment through observation, such as 12 tone to 50 tone overhead cranes, locomotives, hydraulic cathode stripping machines and anode preparation machines so that they are fully operational to meet production demand.
• Maintenance of ceramic larox filter and it's associated units like vacuum pump and hydraulic circuit.
• Coordinate with departmental and team members, as well as process departmental members.
• Overhauling of surface and underground hydraulic components, including cylinders, circulation and boiler pumps, valves, motors, final drives, rotary heads and accumulators.
• Ability to take care of mine issued hand tools and workshop equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and installation of various HDPE pipes and fittings.
• Able to assist in the proactive identification of repair and maintenance works required, which includes raising work requests and proactively assists supervisors to complete work orders with accurate time confirmations and be able to assist in compiling service and repair reports in a timely manner.
• Able to work towards given targets and time frames/periods so that production are achieved safely.
• Ensuring that all tools, plant and equipment are kept in good condition, meet required safety standards and are available for use when required and any other duties, as per instruction from direct line supervisor.
• Perform daily routine maintenance on cooling towers, mobile vibratory screens (Lokotrack S1000 and SANDVIK QE 440) and lance pipes.
• Assembling/dissembling, installation & commissioning of various equipment including SAG ball mills, pump barrels, Symon Cone crusher 51/2 ft.and 3ft, Hazemag rock impactor 1313 crusher, VB 1311 Jaw crusher and METSO nordberg NP1110 impact crusher with its all associated hydraulic system, centrifugal pumps, reduction gearboxes, and conveyor belts on wet and dry plants.
• Inspecting all rotating equipment to ensure guards are in place for safety compliance on extraction fans, cooling fans, blowers and agitators.
• Servicing of compressors as guided in the maintenance manuals and ATLAS COPCO crew, such as GA 11, GA 160 and GA500.
• Multistage Steam Boiler Pumps- Managed to start repairing and maintaining steam boiler pumps was once considered as disposable pumps this saved the refinery department with unnecessary costs of buying new pumps.
• Maintenance of PS convertors and it's associated units like gearboxes, swivel joints, pneumatic punching manchines and brakes adjustments.
• 2021 and 2024 45 Days Smelter Shutdown- In 2020 had an opportunity to appreciate the operation and maintenance of ISA Smelter process were Refinery Department management sent me to Smelter Department to act as a Foreman shifts maintenance. This culminated in exposure to high standard supervisory skills. This resulted in an appointment as Critical Path Supervisor primary smelting in charge of material handling during the 2021 and 2024 SMELTER SHUTDOWN for 45 days. This has improved my decision making under intense pressure whilst sticking to the planned schedules.

- Centrifugal pumps ( like warman pumps, pioneer pumps)

- Installation and alignment of Diesel Engine CAT operated pumps (emergency pumps)

- Hydraulic pumps and Cylinders

- Analytical crushers

- Conveyor belts and belt splicing

- Compressors Maintenance

- Lubrication of Mechanical equipments

• Worked effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Trained as a 50T overhead crane chaser.

• Inspections of ISA waste heat boiler equipment
• Monitoring and Operating of all automated units in the control room to set standard.
• Ensured smooth transitions between shifts by maintaining clear communication lines with colleagues and providing comprehensive briefings on relevant issues.
