Goal-driven, knowledgeable, and experienced physician and infectious disease specialist with experience working in the public and private sectors for over 10 years. I realize that research is essential to improving clinical practice and public health care provision. I am passionate about research and aim to transition into a research career to contribute to and advance evidence-based scientific knowledge in Zambia and the world. I aim to sharpen my research skills in order to one day produce outstanding research that will positively contribute to better health care. I work well in both team-based and independent working capacities, bringing a strong work ethic to any setting or organization.

  • Stake holder engagement: Act as a liaison between the study team and stakeholders regarding clinical-related matters

  • Year-long grant writing training program for the development of a competitive K43 grant award application targeting the December 2024 deadline for submission to the Forgarty International Centre (FIC)
  • Course outline: Trainees undergo training in best practices for grant writing in order to develop a K43 grant research proposal
  • Trainees undergo an intensive iterative grant proposal writing, review, and re-writing process with the guidance of experienced reviewers
  • Trainees will prepare all components of the K43 grant award for a mock review and possible final submission
