Head of Occupational Health Department of a NPO leading 4 sites in different geographical locations.

• Responsible for the development, implementation, assessment and review of a comprehensive Occupational Health Service for the company, corporate clients and their employees.
• Overseeing Occupational Health Services but also actively involved in overseeing the development and implementation of employee wellbeing programs including but not limited to:

-Non-communicable Diseases- including active weight management programs

-Wellness- psychological support.

-Implementation and development of rehabilitative services for injuries and other medical conditions.

• Working closely with HR and IH/Safety department to establish appropriate return to work protocols.
• Assisting HR with managing incapacity cases.
• Ensuring quality OH services are established and continued improvement plans identified and implemented where necessary with close collaboration with the QA team.
• Reviewing and drafting fitness to work guidelines taking into account local and international guidelines and regulations.
• Leading a multidisciplinary team.
• Capacity building in relation to succession planning as well as leadership development is taking a high priority.
• Close collaboration with government agencies for development of Occupational Health within the wider Zambia.

• Working as a consultant with various companies including Mining, Textiles, Transport, Skin Care, Pharmaceuticals (including GSK in Cape Town for a couple of hours a week) and Municipal clinics providing Occupational Health services including Risk Assessments, planning and implementation of Medical Surveillance programmes as well as ensuring legal compliance within the OH framework.
• Working closely with HR and other stakeholders with recommendations for incapacity management.
• Also had a part-time General Practitioner Practice between Jan 2016 and Jan 2019..

• In overall charge of General and Occupational Health teams at the Plant and Mine site.
• Providing overall medical services to the client (emergency, general and Occupational) and implementing improved medical surveillance programmes.
• Close collaboration with HR and IH/Safety to ensure improved return to work programmes and incapacity management as required.
• Leading a multidisciplinary team

• As part of the Executive Committee onboard the ship in charge of the overall Health of the vessel.
• Duties included fitness for work assessments, patient care, public health, staff development and training, legal compliance, and customer satisfaction.
