Responsibilities

  • Designed mechanisms for 11 countries identify and develop Technical Assistance that addresses most critical HIV prevention gaps, catalyzing access to prevention services, sustainability and acceleration of GC7 implementation
  • In Eligible countries supported development of 11 catalytic technical assistance areas covering PrEP scale up ( including Long Acting PrEP, review of National HIV Prevention polices and strategies, HIV Prevention national assessments gap analysis and time bound work plans, HIV Prevention and sustainability road maps, strengthening community structure for HIV amongst others.   • In collaboration with the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Diagnostic unit of WHO and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, this study will test the hypothesis that the introduction of rapid syphilis testing with rapid HIV testing is feasible for HIV programs, is cost effective and will improve the identification and treatment of syphilis in pregnant women
  • This pilot will also explore the results of adding a rapid syphilis test to the package of PMTCT services on uptake of HIV testing for both pregnant women and their male partners
