Lusaka Eye Hospital — Research Assistant (February 2026 – Present)

Supporting an Orbis International-funded ophthalmic biometry study comparing techniques used to measure intraocular lenses ahead of cataract surgery and their effect on post-operative visual acuity. Observing cataract and ophthalmic surgeries, obtaining informed consent from research participants, conducting pre-operative patient interviews, and reviewing and updating over 100 electronic medical records.

National Heart Hospital, Center for Cardiovascular Research — Medical Data Auditor, ACT Registry

Led data quality audits and programme evaluation across more than 800 clinical records to track health outcomes, maintain registry integrity, and support evidence-based clinical decisions. Reviewed over 300 rheumatic and congenital heart disease files and over 200 ECGs and echocardiograms, and updated the Active Community Team registry with more than 200 cases.

Rotated across Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Paediatrics. Managed a broad caseload including antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecological patients; surgical emergencies and minor day surgeries; complex inpatient and HIV/TB cases; and paediatric patients including paediatric HIV, sickle cell disease, and renal conditions. Prepared and presented clinical audit reports weekly, coordinated eMTCT services, and generated tutorials for peer-to-peer learning, working within multidisciplinary teams throughout.

Cancer Diseases Hospital — Research Assistant, Psychosocial Challenges of Women with Vulvar Disease (March 2024 – July 2024)

Contributed to a study looking at the challenges faced by women diagnosed with vulvar disease attending the Gynaecology Oncology Clinic. Supported grant writing that secured a GBP 5,000 award from the Royal Society of Tropical Hygiene and Medicine, conducted over 30 patient interviews, assisted with data cleaning and analysis using STATA and R, and supported the principal investigator with research outputs and reports.
