- Ensure that daily milling targets and optimum grind quality is met for floatation recoveries
- Monitoring plant operations and to coordinate operations of the crushing, milling floatation and hydrometallurgical operations for the back shifts
- Coordinate all shutdown jobs and ensure that the plant is available on time to engineering personal to carry out maintenance work

- Organize competency training for all mailing section operatives to ensure that all have the needed training to run efficiently the three milling circuits.
Process Metallurgist-comminution

- Monitoring plant operations and to coordinate and implement new metallurgical technology of the concentrator covering crushers and the milling section of the concentrator
- Monitor Sag and ball mills liner wear profile by use of faro scanner and advice the engineering team when to change the liners in order to protect the mill shells and maximize on throughput
- Monitor the performance of the cyclones on the milling circuit to ensure that the optimum grind size for flotation is obtained as well as high cyclone separation efficiency is achieved
- Monitor the primary and secondary crushers gap settings using the electronic gap measuring device to ensure that the optimal product size is obtained on the crushers
- Use the JKSMET Simulator to optimize the crushing and milling circuits
- Use of the Milltraj software to optimize mill operating parameters to ensure maximum throughputs
- Sag and ball mills calibration and regular checks on the ball in load each mill to ensure that the required ball load for each mill is maintained for high throughputs and optimal grind.

- Part of the team that commissioned the OMS (oversize monitoring system) and PST (particle size tracking) on the sulphide cyclone cluster supplied by Cidra.
- Introduced the use of lower cone ceramic assembly on sulphide cyclone cluster from the use of complete rubber liners resulting in the saving of about $150,000 per annum by prolonging the life of the lower cone liners from 21 days to 340 days.
- Introduced a liner tracking and changing out procedure for CAVEX 650 cyclones on mixed and oxide cyclone clusters resulting in an annual saving of about $140,000.
- Introduced the use of refurbished lower cone ceramic assembly as opposed to the use of new one resulting in an annual saving of $140,000.
- Part of the team that installed and commissioned the sand filter plant in order to reduce the reagent consumption related to high crud formation at the Zinc Solvent extraction plant.
