Summary

I am a qualified academician, and an Agricultural, Food Security, and Environmental and Natural Resources Management Expert with more than twenty years of experience within the Agricultural sector combining both academic and non- academic roles, locally and Internationally. During my work life, I have achieved and accomplished many tasks and assignments which include among others; I fully participated many times in facilitating trainings and Field Days for the targeted 200, 000 farmers on efficient crop production technics for maize, sunflower, soya beans and groundnuts. Trained more than 200 three years Diploma and 60, 4 years Degree students for the Natural Resources Development College in Zambia the University of Namibia respectively Carried out Project budget trackings, monitoring and management on behalf of Catholic Relief Services. Created a database for all available Oil-Expelling machines in four districts of Eastern Province (Lundazi, Chipata, Katete, and Petauke) for easy monitoring under Catholic Relief Services / USAID. Linked more than 200 of the target farmers to reliable market outlets for their produce within the province which also increased their income levels significantly. CRS / USAID. Very successfully managed seven (7) cassava, sweet potato nurseries in four (4) Provinces, which resulted in the distribution of over 2 million cassava cuttings and over 5,000 25kg bags of sweet potato vines for further multiplication to surrounding communities within the target districts under JICA. Successfully managed the food processing and preservation project for 15 women groups which comprised 25 members each and also linked them to local Financial Lending institutions under FAO /UNDP in Malawi. Prepared Food Processing and Preservation training manuals and TOTs manuals for use by the women groups, and the general public in Malawi under a UNDP project. I also developed skills and competences in many areas, such as, project management, monitoring and evaluations, leadership, team building, effective communication, child protection and Field security. I am currently working as a private Consultant on agricultural and food security, climate change and environment related issues.

  • Overseeing day to day implementation of project activities in Western Province.
  • Technical Backstopping for a GIZ funded Nutrition Project (FANSER) in Eastern Province
  • Budget Tracking, Monitoring and Management.
  • Achievements:
  • 200 targeted homesteads benefitted from improved dietary food requirements and nutritious vegetables, including using improved soil fertility plants.
  • Also 1000 pregnant and lactating mothers adopted the use and consumption of high nutritious vegetables as part of their ne improved diet.
  • Facilitated and conducted various trainings / workshops for both agriculture staff and target community project beneficiaries within the two mentioned provinces.

  • Monitoring various agro-enterprise related activities in four districts of the province.
  • Achievements:
  • I Provided technical advice to machine owners on safe, effective and efficiency operation and maintenance of the same. Safety, efficiency and effectiveness increased by more than 40% from nearly 25% due to my interventions.
