KEY REPOSIBILITIES.
- Enforcing Safe Engineering practice in all aspects of daily operations in maintenance to ensure maximum Safety at all times on site.
- Respond to fire, medical, hazmat, confined space, vehicle extrication, high angle, and other emergency situation that may arise.
- Conduct quarterly inspections of fire equipment, including Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose Reels, and Fire Hydrants where required.
- Respond to site and off-site emergencies, both on and off duty.
- Troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of floatation cells, sag and ball mills, cyclones, pumps, filter press, conveyor belts and crushers.
- Alignment of shaft couplings for rotary mechanical equipment such as Pumps and motor.
- Installation of various types of valves.
- Basic rigging commands and practices thus am able to work with mobile cranes, overhead cranes, chain blocks, slings, ropes, shackles etc.
- Respond to breakdowns.
- Assembled and installed mechanical components in accordance with safety standards and operational protocols.
- Assisted in training junior mechanical fitters on proper techniques, fostering effective teamwork and skill development within the department.
