• Designing, scoping of work and constructing of office buildings, sheds, slabs, bunded area, storm water drains, pump bases, ablutions, change houses.
• Estimating quantities and material costs during project planning to support budgeting and costing.
• Designing and implementing improvements to existing concrete and steel structures following business requirements
• Managing yearly corrosion protection projects of about 30,000 square meters a year.
• Managing and mentoring junior, graduate and intern civil engineers.
• Managing and mentoring a local civil crew with various skill sets for maintenance works in the process plant.
• Maintaining two large (ICOLD definition) earthen water dams for river diversion of the Sentinel and Enterprise pits.
• Designing and installing surface and subsurface drains on both dams for the controlled collection of storm water and seepage water.
• Monitoring and analyzing piezometer data, dam water levels, v notch flow readings for dam stability analysis
• Supervising personnel executing maintenance work on dam
• Assisting in drafting of the dam evacuation procedures.
• Managing multiple civil engineering projects in the process plant executed by local contractors.

• Installing all underground piping systems to various parts of the plant and mining areas.
• Providing material take off estimates for piping and fittings required on various HDPE and steel piping installation required in pipe racks.
• Obtaining all surveyed locations of buried pipes to provide as built drawings for underground piping services
• Installation of dewatering piping in the Sentinel Pit.
• a range of skilled and non-skilled people groups of general workers, welders, pipe fitters, plasticians and operators in execution of tasks.
• Supervising and coordinating steel piping works by Chinese contractors, as well as acting as mediator/translator between the contractor and management.
• Installing all sample piping systems in the process plant connecting to the on-stream analyzers for copper grade analysis Installation of large diameter piping discharge systems at the Tailings storage facility.

Some responsibilities included;

• Monitoring execution of contract work for compliance with design plans and specifications.
• Managing quality assurance and laboratory testing for concreting operations.
• Inspecting installation of precast structures, concrete and earthworks.
• Monitoring finishing works such as plastering, window, doors, floors, ceilings.
