Summary

I possess a diversity of experiences. I am a program manager with a flair for Statistics. I am a manager with a practical approach, a passion and interest in Public Health. I am skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Data Analysis, Strategic Planning, Organizational Development, Human Resource Management and Public Speaking. All these attributes have given me a very broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of subjects. With an initial background in Business Administration, I have over the past decade worked under CDC funded programs at management level and developed extensive experience in Public Health but more to do with HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health programming with special reference to the social context of HIV prevention, treatment and care and Reproductive Health maintenance. I have acquired a Master of Science in Epidemiology which has really complimented my other qualifications to contribute favorable to my current job at the University Teaching Hospital-HIV AIDS Program.

  • Maintain close supervision on the functions of the different program areas, ensuring productivity and checking the quality of work output
  • Work closely with the PI/Director, Directors of Finance, Planning and Evaluation, and the Internal Auditor/Head of Compliance to ensure that activities are conducted within prescribed budgets and timeframes as well as being compliant with relevant policies and procedures
  • Ensure the maintenance of a working environment that yields productivity and facilitate acquisition of essential supplies
  • Coordinate with the PI/ Director, Secretariat, the various Heads of Units and Program Coordinators to ensure that planning and implementation of operations runs smoothly and in the prescribed time frames in order to timely meet program objectives
  • Oversee planning, organizing and managing of the various activities conducted within and outside UTH-HAP
  • Liaise with Unit Heads and Program Coordinators/Administrators to ensure that reports, requests, budgets etc are submitted to the UTH-HAP Secretariat in good time and in the prescribed manner
  • Facilitate compilation and onward submission of HAP documents to management and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with Program Administrators and Human Resources as pertains to action, activities, budget, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and other strategic management activities
  • Work closely with M&E and Data departments to ensure that data collection corresponds with the database requirements for all UTH-HAP Program areas
  • Maintain close observation and make recommendations regarding more effective and organized handling of specific operations within the UTH-HAP
  • Serve as the receiver of important mail, documents and ordered items delivered to the UTH-HAP address
  • Draft relevant responses and outward communication on behalf of the PI/Director as required
  • Responsible for overseeing the implementation and ongoing maintenance of all office policies and procedures
  • Ensure policies and procedures are revised as required and always up-to-date
  • Provide guidance and expertise to staff in resolving care receiver problems or concerns
