Support the implementation of the Regional Capacity Building Initiative on Transparency (CBIT) project in 4 COMESA countries (Comoros, Eritrea, Seychelles, Zambia)

Support the capacity strengthening of stakeholders from Comoros, Eritrea, Seychelles, Zambia to measure, report and verify emissions in Agriculture, Forestry and other Land Use (AFOLU) and other Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) sectors.

Spearhead the convening of National and Regional Trainings and thematic learning events on Measurement, Verification and Reporting (MRV) systems, tracking NDCs and climate actions undertaken.

Serve as the technical lead on resilience and climate change during the design and implementation of the COMESA Regional Pharmaceutical project with the following climate and environment specific deliverables:

· Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF) for the pharmaceutical sector in the COMESA region

· Green Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Strategy and Business Plan for the COMESA region

Serve as technical lead on climate change and carbon markets during the design of the Accelerating Sustainable and Clean Energy Transformation in Eastern and Southern Africa Multi-Phase Programmatic Approach (World Bank ASCENT Programme)

Coordinate the entire technical process of developing the Zambia Green Growth Strategy 2024-2030 with involvement of all relevant stakeholders from the public and private sector and ensure successful launch of the strategy at national level.

Coordinate the Zimbabwe national project on energy, water, and hydrofluorocarbons audits to upscale the rolling out of energy, water and Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HFCs) audits in private companies and public sector institutions and facilitate the adoption of energy efficiency measures and the use of renewable energy sources in Zimbabwe.

Coordinate the planning and execution of activities under the EU funded Climate change project through support to review national policies and strategies on environment and climate change, ensure activities in the COMESA Countries contribute to the attainment of the Paris Agreement on climate change,

support the technical organization and management of regional and national meetings, workshops and symposiums.

Coordinate implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) such as Stockholm convention, Cartagena protocol, Paris Agreement etc and ensure their domestication at national and regional levels.

Work with international cooperating partners particularly the World Bank and others to organize regional and international forums on climate risks, food security and other critical issues facing the COMESA Region.
