Designed and implemented a prototype FACTS system using a Thyristor Switched Reactor for transmission line voltage regulation.
Demonstrated mitigation of overvoltage and undervoltage conditions on a transmission line model.
Automatically adjusted undervoltages by connecting shunt capacitors to counter low voltage profiles caused by high load demand and large line impedance.
Automatically adjusted over-voltages caused by lightly loaded lines due to Ferrari-effect within acceptable limits by connecting shunt inductors (Reactors)
Simulated system performance and validated results through hardware prototyping.
Developed an automated control scheme, improving voltage stability compared to traditional manual compensation systems.
