While working as a Technical Supervisor under BIA Zambia, KASCCO Mining, and BIA Management asked me to act as the Mechanical Engineer and maintain my duties as a supervisor. I took up the challenge, and the following are my duties:

• Managing the maintenance department as a whole, including budgeting, resource allocation.
• Ensuring that the fleet of 14 CAT 777 trucks, 10 Komatsu 785 trucks, 7 excavators, and 5 dozers are well maintained to the respective OEM standards, in line with Mine Regulation 210. This not only involves meticulous planning, but also commitment to the plan.
• Ensuring at least 70% availability to help keep production afloat.
• Development of maintenance KPIs that were meant to maximize the maintenance team's performance, ensure the reliability of equipment, and control the meantime between failures, showcasing my ability to make strategic plans and sound decisions that are data-driven.
• Logbook appointments for foremen, as well as signing entries and ensuring that foremen comply with the provisions of Mining Regulation 214.

• Ensuring that the customer's equipment is maintained to OEM standards by planning for and executing services on time, carrying out major component changeouts, etc.
• Leading safety meetings, issuing safety instructions to the team, and general custodianship of the logbook, as per Mine Regulation 214.
• Leading the team in troubleshooting, in line with OEM (Komatsu) standards, as described in the shop manual.
• Carrying out root cause analysis and reporting to Komatsu in a report called a TSI.
• Making customer warranty claims.
• Condition monitoring through daily inspections, oil sampling, computer downloads, and keeping a backlog for issues that can be rectified during service.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly reports to BIA and Kascco management.

• Design of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Design drawings in AutoCAD/Revit.
• Attending the site meeting and supervising the contractors.
• Cost reporting and approval of contractor invoices on behalf of clients.

• Led the installation of the bulk water pumping equipment and the water plant equipment during the construction of the Radisson Blu Mosi-Oa-Tunya resort.
• Reading plant room drawings and schematics for component ordering and installation.
• Testing of plant room equipment and submitting test results to the commissioning engineer.
