Duties Responsibilities

  • Immediate response to customer’s demands for stock items generated through both on-line and manual stock requisitions.
  • To ensure that all issues made are updated in Pronto within 12 hours.
  • To ensure that the Pick Back log is less than 10 by the end of each week.
  • To ensure that all discrepancies identified with items already kept in stock are promptly reported (raising of Daily discrepancy report) to Inventory section for corrective action taken within 12 hours.
  • To ensure that all Warehouse Spread sheets are timely updated.
  • To ensure that weekly reports are timely updated in readiness for Controllers’ meetings.
  • To ensure that there is an uninterrupted flow of required goods and materials to LMC operations.
  • To maintain the condition and shelf life of stock.
  • To ensure the accurate identification and labeling of stock items.
  • To ensure that there’ smooth hand over with Logistics for items to be delivered and the pick slips and that hand over books are updated.
  • To ensure that the Key Procedure is strictly adhered to.
  • To ensure that all items for delivery are picked, packed, and slotted in the correct slot in readiness for delivery considering the delivery times.
  • To identify hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage Warehouse team to comply with safety regulations, company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
  • Provide timely and efficient Warehouse services that strive to meet and exceed customer expectations and deadlines
  • Provide accurate advice to LMC personnel on Warehouse matters
  • Provide in a timely manner all documentation as agreed with customers and external parties
  • Be an active participant within the Supply team and assist with achievement of the section’s goals.
  • Develop methods of delivering a consistent and quality services to all customers
  • Monitor Manage and Control the receipt, storage and issuing of high valued items such as tyres, mill liners, and insurance items e.tc.
  • Deal with the strategic (Long term) operations of the warehouse.
  • Ensure that the weekly report is prepared for the weekly controllers meeting which will be represented by the Warehouse Controller.
  • Administratively assumes responsibility for managing warehouse operations in the absence of the Warehouse Controller or assists in various aspects of the warehouse management activities as directed.
  • Inspecting the Warehouse that is Central Warehouse, Process Yard and HIA Yard on a weekly basis to ensure adherence and compliance to high safety standards.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports on the numbers of issues and receipts done per individual Warehouse staff.
  • Ensure all manifests are audited on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Monitor closely the PPE issuing on all supply chain staff.
  • Process the issuing of fuel on a monthly basis.
  • Directs and oversees the work of warehouse staff.
  • Assists the Warehouse Controller in planning, assigning and reviewing the work of warehouse workers, priotizing the delivery schedule.
  • Evaluates employee performance and provides input on performance appraisal.
  • Manage all status of sales orders as per set targets and ensure any stock request discrepancies from area of responsibility are not only communicated to end users in time but also investigated and sorted out in time to ensure high system integrity.
  • Assist to ensure applicable company policies, procedures, standards and instructions are appropriately followed by subordinates and suggest amendment as and when necessary.
  • Work with other line supervisors from other sections and within Supply to ensure day to day warehousing activities of LMC mine run effectively, efficiently and achieve high customer service level agreements.
  • Provide parts information and alternative parts possibilities to customers for possible stock description improvements.
  • Undertake regular audits to ensure subordinates adhere to issuing instructions.
  • Provide efficient and timely service to customers to meet or exceed the needs of the business.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and be able to propose corrective actions for improved high customer service.
  • Assist in cyclic stock takes in area of responsibility. Ensure stock take variances arising from area of responsibility are followed up and close in time frame as per stock take procedure
  • Ensure appropriate storage and correct labelling in areas of responsibility.
  • Contribute to the achievement of Corporate and internal targets such as Inventory Accuracy, HIT rate and Fill rate
  • Ensure that the FIFO principle is adhered to when issuing goods that have shelf life and maintain register for all perishables and Hazardous materials.
  • Contribute positively towards departmental continuous and critical initiative plans
  • Assist team and customers on matters of standardisation, duplication and alternatives related parts held in stock.
  • Work closely with all sections in the P2P cycle to close ant existing gaps.
  • Supervise and take responsibility for safe, secure and proper handling of all materials in storage area of responsibility in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Assist in the investigation and close out of warehouse incidents.
  • Adhere to safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the LMC Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
  • Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team.
  • Have the required competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with stakeholders in LMC’s mining activities, consistent with Barrick’s Community Relations Policies.
