Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing all aspects of QA and QC is met for 18 factories across Africa including food safety management systems, internal standards and GMP(good manufacturing practices) as well as setting up of QC plans, checks and QC laboratories.
- Project owner and coordinator of the global Wilmar group auditors forum and committee.
- Member of the global group training and development committee responsible for global training events and developing internal training material and standards for the global group.
Included Activities:
- Develop and direct quality quality policies, standards, plans and programs designed to drive continuous improvement or organizational processes, products and services.
- Establish overall direction and implement strategic initiatives to ensure achieving the directives is achieved for each factory under control but also for the region as a whole.
- Formulate, monitor and review of specific KPI's for each factory in terms quality to ensure the strategic outcomes are met.
- Work closely with factory senior and executive management to strategize and ensure the commitments of the factory QA and QC department is met in terms of the service provided to the factory.
- Work closely with global group Technical heads for QA and QC to ensure the annual group objectives for quality is met for each region including strategizing and planning of future objectives.
- Engage with customers as required form factory executive management
Day to day activities:
- Provide remote support to all the regional factories on a regular basis and as needed to ensure all individual factory quality targets are met.
- Regular factory visits as well as when needed to review quality department performance and/or to provide physical support when/where necessary to ensure quality department performance is up to the needed standard to support the business.
- Review of daily/monthly/quarterly quality reports from all operations throughout Africa factories to identify potential issues to which support will be required.
- Conduct regular virtual audits with the global group panel auditor team.
- Conduct regular factory/site gap audits in terms of food safety and GMP to ensure possible risk to product is mitigated.
- Generation of group level reports regarding regional QA/QC progress, SWOT analysis, competitor analysis and other review/feedback reports on regular basis and as when required to ensure regional activities continue to align with group objectives and progress requirements.
- Develop quarterly group quality learning forums for global quality community and provide technical expertise to specific topics for group training programs.
- Training and development of regional factory staff, departmental managers and executives to ensure continuous improvement, latest best practices and food safety culture awareness/improvement.
