• Productive Control Room Operator in Flash Smelting and Furnace operations
• Monitor and track the progress of equipment in process, ensuring that all operations were running smoothly.
• Monitoring all operations and plant equipments in the Control Room eg Process, Combustion and Bottom Cooling Fans, Water pumps and Heavy Fuel Oil pumps through the DCS.
• Monitoring Furnace cooling system i.e Jacket cooling and spray cooling.
• Performing routine maintenance on equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise
• Ensuring plant start-up checklist and process Advisor is Ready before Feed start.
• Controlling of Copper in slag Grade in the Direct-to-Blister Furnace within the desired range and interpret Assay results as they come from the plant QA laboratory.
• Responding quickly to DCS alarms, system failures and taking appropriate action to resolve them in a timely manner.
• Provide support to other downstream departments within the organization as needed e.g Waste Heat Recovery Boiler, Sulphuric Acid Plant and Slag/Blister tapping planning from Flash Furnace to Electric Furnace and Anode Furnaces
• Maintaining high-level phone/Radio communication with plant Field operators, Tappers, maintenance workers and other downstream departments about Plant status.
• Delivers safe and efficient operations to personnel and equipment safety.
• Reduce response times for emergencies by closely monitoring alerts through the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and coordinating swift action among team members.
• Maintains high levels of safety in the workplace through diligent observation and strict adherence to protocols
• Reporting complex issues and conditions to management for specialized diagnosis and repair.
• Inspecting plant activities on screens and computers to identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensuring smooth transitions between shifts by maintaining clear communication lines with colleagues and providing comprehensive briefings on relevant issues.

• Flash Smelting Furnace level measurements i.e Blister, Slag and foaming layer

• Measuring Furnace temperature, Slag and Blister temperature

• Concentrate Burner and Air-slide cleaning

• Feed, slag and Blister sample preparation

• Emergency equipments trials e.g Diesel water pump

• Monitoring physical performance of field equipments and equipment change overs when need for maintenance arise.

• Physical checking of flowing cooling water in the Headers

• Boiler and Acid Plant Bypass preparation

• Cleaning of Settler and Wall Burners

• Cleaning off build-ups from the settler burner pots

• Opening and closing of Furnace inpection windows during plant start-up and plant stoppage.

• Reduced equipment downtime by performing routine maintenance and repairs.
