  • I’m currently working at the National Health Research as a Senior Knowledge Translation Specialist
  • Among the duties and responsibilities include: Strategy & Planning – develop, lead and execute a creative and effective mixed-media strategy for communicating the Authority’s goals/objectives and its pipeline of knowledge creation and translation; coordinate the development and implementation of participatory knowledge/learning exchange events such as conferences and webinars
  • Communications and documentation material, content and publications - develop compelling and creative content on the foundation’s work
  • Initiating, drafting, and editing of communications materials, including peer reviewed publications, policy/opinion pieces, monographs, fact sheets, infographics, press kits and multimedia products that targets a wide range of audiences
  • Research and Analysis – participate in the planning, design, implementation and analysis/evaluation of key research under the Authority; maintain online knowledge management database

  • The Data to Policy (D2P) program, jointly developed by CDC and Vital Strategies, trains government health staff to use data to develop policy briefs to advance priorities identified by governments
  • The training process features e-learning, in-person training sessions, and several weeks of mentoring by CDC and Vital Strategies trainers
  • Participants develop advanced analytical skills and learn quantitative methods necessary to use data to inform policy
  • At present, I am one of the Public Health Expert and Outcome Research Consultants working to support mentees in Tanzania, and Malawi
  • A similar model has been adopted by the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) – PeaCe Health project, where National health Research Authority has offered technical support to develop high impact policy briefs to inform policy and programming in the PeaCe Health Project implementing provinces

Research Monitoring Evaluation Experience

  • November 2020 to January 2021, I participated in the End-line evaluation study for the Zambia Health Services Improvement Project (ZHSIP) funded by the World Bank in the Ministry of Health. The evaluation was aimed at assessing the extent to which the ZHSIP objectives were achieved, assess the fidelity of implementation, document lessons learnt (both challenges and successes), and make recommendations to inform future programming., Team lead for the Northern and Muchinga Provinces teams, moderate FGDs conduct In-depth Interviews with beneficiaries and project implementers. I also participated in data analysis and report writing.
  • June to July 2020, I participated in the qualitative case studies for the Zambia Health Services Improvement Project (ZHSIP) funded by the World Bank in the Ministry of Health. I also participated in data analysis and report writing.
  • August to September 2018, I participated in a qualitative impact evaluation study under the Zambia Anglican Council Outreach Program (ZACOP) with support from African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC). The evaluation was on the effectiveness of a community-based parenting empowerment program to improve nurturing care of young children in Zambia, Team lead for the qualitative team, moderate FGDs conduct In-depth Interviews with beneficiaries and project implementers. I also participated in data analysis and report writing.
  • January 2018, I participated in a Health Facility Assessment exercise for Chipata district under the HIV Case-Based Surveillance supported by the Ministry of Health. This exercise was aimed at the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, which will be a platform for tracking and providing treatment to the HIV positive clients., Monitoring and evaluation officer on the assessment participated in data collection, data analysis and report writing.
  • April 8th 2017 to September 8th 2017, I participated in planning and implementation of the Saving Mothers, Giving Life Summative Evaluation supported by US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in collaboration with the Central Statistical Office (CSO), under the supervision of Dr. Musonda Lemba, Senior Lecturer at the University of Zambia., Master trainer, monitoring and evaluation officer on the project, participated in data collection, data analysis and report writing.
  • February 2014 – February 2017, I participated in the quarterly routine data collection exercise for the Saving Mothers, Giving Life (SMGL) initiative by the Department of Population Studies. The project was undertaken in health facilities/posts and hospitals from Lundazi, Nyimba, Mansa, Chembe, Zimba and Kalomo districts., Team Lead, participated in data collection, data analysis and report writing.
